Our Adolescent DBT program is a comprehensive program for youths age 14-18 who are struggling with intense emotions and impulsive behaviors (e.g. substance use, eating disorders, anger, suicide, non-suicidal self-injury).
Our program is self-referred. We do not require a doctor’s referral: any parent who thinks their adolescent might benefit from our program can call us to access our DBT program. Adolescents can also call by themselves if they want to be part of our program.
When you call us about our program, we will schedule a brief phone intake, ideally with both parents and youth, to discuss whether DBT is the right program for them. Adolescent DBT works better if parents/caregivers can be involved in the treatment. If DBT may be a good fit for you, we will set up a time to meet with you for a more comprehensive assessment.
DBT is an intensive treatment. Our program includes the following components:
All parts of our adolescent DBT program work together, and therapy works best when it includes all of these parts.
