Dr. Lovasz (She/Her) is a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and one of just a few Canadian DBT-Linehan Board of Certification Certified Clinicians™. Dr. Lovasz received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Simon Fraser University. Dr. Lovasz established and coordinated one of the first private DBT programs in Ontario in 2012 and served as the head of the program for several years before contributing to a second such program and starting the Toronto DBT Centre. She has experience as a clinician and researcher with extensive training and expertise in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Dr. Lovasz was trained by various DBT experts including Dr. Marsha Linehan, creator of DBT, and some of her post-doctoral fellows. Dr. Lovasz has provided DBT in private practice, inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, and community mental health clinics. She is passionate about providing comprehensive, adherent, and effective treatment to clients with multiple and complex mental health needs. Her research on DBT and other clinical topics has been presented at international conferences and published in scientific journals. She has extensive experience working with Borderline Personality Disorder, eating disorders, trauma, impulsive and compulsive behaviors, self-harm and suicidal behaviour, mood and anxiety disorders and clients who identify as LGBTQ*.
