Welcome to the Toronto DBT Centre!
- DBT is an effective treatment for people who struggle with complex mental health problems, including Borderline Personality Disorder.
- The Toronto DBT Centre was established to make it easy for clients to access a comprehensive, evidence-based, specialized DBT program.
- We are dedicated to helping clients who struggle with intense emotions understand and change their emotions so that they can live the life they want to have.
- We are committed to providing effective, compassionate, and comprehensive care.
6/17/2020: We are currently accepting new clients for our adult and adolescent DBT Programs. Wait times for services are approximately 6-8 weeks. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, all services are currently offered via a secure online platform. Please contact us to schedule a phone intake.
Continuity of Care During COVID-19: Policies and Procedures
05/19/2020: Update: We are aware of the Premier’s announcement that “in-person counselling services” may resume effective May 19th, 2020. However, out of an abundance of caution regarding the well-being of our clients and staff, and because the College of Psychologists of Ontario continues to recommend the provision of online services, we will be providing online services only until further notice.
Effective March 17, 2020 and until further notice, all of our therapy appointments, including all group sessionsoccur on a web-based healthcare video platform. We provide sessions via teleconferencing through a secure PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act) compliant platform (Zoom for Healthcare) with end-to-end encryption.
We are committed to reducing health risks to our clients and therapists, and are also supporting the global effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 with social distancing. We also recognize that this is a very challenging time and want to ensure that we can continue to provide care to all of our clients during this time.
All clients complete an online consent form outlining our online therapy policies and procedures prior to their first session and a group agreement form prior to their first group session.
As a reminder, we do have a 24 hour cancellation policy and ask that cancellations be communicated to us with 24 hour notice to avoid late cancellation fees.
If you would like to schedule a new session or have any questions or concerns, please contact your therapist or our clinic directly.
Best wishes to you and yours on behalf of our team.
