Marria (She/Her) is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Marria received her Master of Social Work from the University of Western Ontario and has experience working in community agencies, school boards, hospitals and in women’s corrections. Marria has been dedicated to providing comprehensive DBT with warmth and compassion in a non-judgmental way, specifically with adolescents, young adults and their families. At the Toronto DBT Centre, Marria works with clients 14-22 years of age and is available to meet on Saturday’s and Monday evenings. Marria thoroughly enjoys her role as a DBT therapist and works collaboratively with clients to help them move towards their goals while enhancing the quality of their life. She has experience in, but is not limited to working with suicidal and self-injurious behaviours, difficulties with mood and anxiety, disordered eating, learning disabilities and impulsive behaviours. Marria has worked with LGBTQ+ clients and focuses on providing culturally-sensitive treatment in all interactions.
In her spare time Marria enjoys making fondant cakes and cupcakes, hiking, playing with dogs, and going to restaurants with friends and family. With a love for many musical genres, Marria usually looks forward to attending at least one concert every month.
