Welcome to the Toronto DBT Centre!
- DBT is an effective treatment for people who struggle with complex mental health problems, including Borderline Personality Disorder.
- The Toronto DBT Centre was established to make it easy for clients to access a comprehensive, evidence-based, specialized DBT program.
- We are dedicated to helping clients who struggle with intense emotions understand and change their emotions so that they can live the life they want to have.
- We are committed to providing effective, compassionate, and comprehensive care.
3/18/2020: During the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are still currently accepting new patients for our adult and adolescent DBT programs but will only offer online tele-health services until further notice. Please contact us to schedule a phone intake for our program.
Continuity of Care During COVID-19: Policies and Procedures
With the recent increase of cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Toronto, the health and safety of all clients and staff at the Toronto DBT Centre is very important to us. We are closely monitoring developments and are committed to ensuring continuity of care for all of our clients during this stressful and difficult time.
Effective March 17, 2020 and until further notice, we are moving all of our in-person therapy appointments to a web-based healthcare video platform.
As previously communicated, we will also transition all group sessions to an online format and will provide information regarding this format to all clients enrolled in group in the upcoming days.
We will provide sessions via teleconferencing through a secure PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act) compliant platform (Zoom for Healthcare) with end-to-end encryption.
Your individual therapist will be in touch with you in the upcoming days via email to provide further details on how to access your web session.
We will contact all group clients with login information for their first group session.
We are committed to reducing health risks to our clients and therapists, and are also supporting the global effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 with social distancing. We also recognize that this is a very challenging time and want to ensure that we can continue to provide care to all of our clients during this time.
We will ask all clients to complete an online consent form outlining our online therapy policies and procedures prior to their first session and a group agreement form prior to their first group session.
As a reminder, we do have a 24 hour cancellation policy and ask that cancellations be communicated to us with 24 hour notice to avoid late cancellation fees.
If you would like to schedule a new session or have any questions or concerns, please contact your therapist or our clinic directly.
Best wishes to you and yours on behalf of our team.
